Out with the Old, In with the Noob!

Noob 2.0
Atxello Level 6 warrior on Dragonmaw
So you've slayed the Lich King and farmed yourself a couple legendary weapons. You've mastered pvp, completed your dual spec gear set, and stockpiled enough gold to put platinum spinners on your Mechano-hog. You may have even attained a near Chuck Norris status on your server. What is there left for you to do? Dare I say....start a new character? I dare! Now before you start throwing tomatoes at me let me finish. Can you remember what made you start playing World of Warcraft and what drew you in and captivated your attention? Was it the exciting new virtual world ripe with adventure? Or did the music lure you in with its subtlely enticing melody? Perhaps World of Warcraft began as a simple video game like all the others, but somehow, somewhere along the line you began to view Azeroth as more than just a video game. I remember for me, World of Warcraft really took hold of me at around level 34. I was a priest healing for a group in the Scarlet Monastery. I never read any guides and didn't have a clue what an "addon" was. All I remember is the feeling of satisfaction I got when my group demolished everything in our path, and I alone kept everyone healed and alive. Because of that one run through SM, I was invited to a guild who witnessed the potential deep within my noobish level 34 priest. From there a whole new world opened up to me full of adventure, friendship, and epic adventures slaying every form of evil in Azeroth.

Three years and three level 80's later, I crave that feeling of excitement I first experienced when I began playing WoW so very long ago. And what better time to dive into the excitement and reconnect with more nostalgic times than now? With Bind on Account gear and the clock ticking till the next expansion, why wait? It's easier to level than ever before and now is an excellent time to experience all of the old world content before its gone forever. The Shimmering Flats for example will be almost completely flooded in a few months, and I've never been to the racetrack! This is why I came up with the idea to start a new character to indulge myself in all the beauty and lore that warcraft has to offer so that when Cataclysm finally hits shelves, I can appreciate the storyline even moreso.

Thus, my plan is to start a brand new warrior (a class i've never managed to get above level 30) on the US Dragonmaw server Alliance side (since my mains are all horde). The challenge is to read every questline I can get my hands on rather than speed leveling to 80. I plan to keep you informed with a weekly update of where my warrior has gone and the crazy shenanigans I get him into. Also if anyone wants to join me on the Dragonmaw server, I'll help you out by providing 5g and 4 free netherweave bags if you're feeling down like a clown. So feel free to drop a line in the comments or PST me on Atxello. I look forward to hearing from you.

I'd love to know what you enjoy about World of Warcraft. Do you have an incredible story about how you were drawn into the world of Azeroth? Comment below so all the world can reminisce with you :D

Bringing back the fire!

There are countless numbers of online video games, millions of players and thousands of hours invested, but its that one place in that one tiny city on just that one game that I as player am seeing now.  I could describe how the virtual leaves are dancing in a nonexistent breeze, or how the bark of the tree is old and brittle, or the feeling of something as epic as the character i control walking up to a moving, breathing Ent that makes World of Warcraft so incredible. Of course I am only sitting here in Levi's and a pair of Nikes, but online amongst millions of others around the world I am someone who slays dragons, kills gods and sends demons back to the hell they came from. The power to control he who has the ability to wield fire, summon lightning and command dozens of exotic animals gives me a thrill of wonder and accomplishment I can't get anywhere else. Born from the minds of just a handful of brilliant creators comes a world brimming with life in which one can transcend the borders of reality.  Gifted to me is the ability to absorb this world in its entirety and now that WoW is at an evolutionary standstill until Cataclysm I'm going to make it my mission to see all that makes Azeroth such a magical, enticing place.

So join me in my journey across Azeroth as I visit unique places hidden in the nooks and crannies of WoW often overlooked by the casual player. In my upcoming posts I'll bring you lore, leveling and gold tips, exploits, and guides on everything WoW related. Let's bring the fire back to Azeroth and enjoy it one last time before the whole things burns!
